"When we asked our School Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP) summer participants to define what “Beauty” meant to them, the all looked around hoping for someone to provide them with an answer. Many of our students enrolled in the 6 week summer program were either new to the United States, were unable to speak or understand the English language and expressed shyness towards trying something new.At the start of the first week Dani was able to form a professional connection with the students by introducing the program and adding her personal experiences to assist in building the students’ comfort levels.
Dani worked with the students individually showing them what true beauty was through the art of photography. Dani took the time to connect with each student as one and the group as a whole and consistently praised the students for their hard work and efforts. At the end of the summer, Dani gathered with the students to watch a video together filled with personal portraits and quotes. At that moment, several students began to cry and hugged each other. They formed a single file line to thank  Dani for being patient with them and providing them with a memory to last a lifetime. Students expressed their sadness towards the end of the summer and wished they could relive the experience all over again."  School Based Program

The Real Beauty: Uncovered Project was very successful at Morristown High School. We did it in conjunction with our spring musical, Legally Blonde, to emphasize how important inner beauty is in a world that puts too much value in the superficial. Dani is an incredible person with great skill at working with teenagers. In a very short period of time, she gets them to be honest and introspective and to cut through the veneers of life in order to see the true beauty they hold within. I would highly recommend Dani and the Real Beauty Project for your high school, if you’re looking for something game-changing for your school community. The project is excellent and it will truly change the perspectives and lives of the students who participate. -Michael Maguire,Morristown High School Technology Education Teacher and Theatre Artistic Director
